About Me
As you can probably tell by now , I am a fan of all things Superman. I am a comic reader/collector, and a huge fan of a lot of the recent comic movies. (It sure seems to be helping Hollywood and the entertainment industry these days.)
So why Superman?
Well in this case truth is stranger than fiction. Even though I was a fan of Superman comic and Movies, in 1998 - 1999 the release of Lotus Notes R5 was advertised as Super.Human.Software. Lotus licensed Superman from DC comics for a couple of advertisements and created a buzz in the email and collaboration software Industry. I was an Administrator of the software at that time and pinning up the advertisements in my cube, as they were released in the print version of eWeek magazine. I kept adding a few more until my cube was modestly filled with Superman paraphernalia and a with a Lotus advertisement that said "I am Superman, I can do anything" on it. From then on whenever someone needed support or assistance and stopped by my cube, they referred to me as Superman.
At some point in the near future I hope to rework my site to include the original advertisement. (Yes I still have a copy of it!)
A little Superman Comic trivia:
Before Crisis of Infinite Earths, Superman's birth name was originally Kal-L, son of Jor-L and Lora..
He was rocketed to earth and discovered by John and Mary (not Martha) Kent. They took him to an orphanage and later returned to adopt him. In time Mary and John Kent passed away. John on his deathbed told his son to use his mysterious powers for good. Clark took this advice to heart, deciding to conceal his identity and use his abilities only as Superman. Clark worked for the Daily Star Newspaper, instead of the Daily Planet.
This original Superman later came to be known as Earth-2 Superman or Superman 1.
This site is something to do in my spare time, as if I don't have enough hobbies!
